Welcome to this special
space in cyber land. There are no strangers in such a space,
only pilgrims seeking to be learners, to explore and to revere
what new challenges cross our path.
Browsing through these
web pages may you find the information you are seeking. Cyberspace
is a remarkable world – filled with figures and facts,
words and images. It is hard to be an effective learner with
such clutter around. I ask that you seek to understand us,
help us be who we are, and join us in our quest to make a
genuine difference to our dynamic space in this challenging
world.
I hope that you find what
you want and that it responds well to an invitation for you
to be part of our very precious community.

Intermediate School is a very important stage in one's schooling.
It will be for most people the most wonderful, positive, empowering
experience and I am committed to helping that be the case for each
and every one of our students. There will be some specialisation
in preparation for College and students will be introduced to many
new and interesting aspects of the curriculum.
Since
its establishment in 1958, Murrays Bay Intermediate has always
been to the forefront of year seven and eight education. The
school is committed to excellence in everything that it does.
We endeavour to achieve high standards of
academic study. Consequently, the development of sound work
habits and a positive attitude to learning are a focus.
The school takes a pride in offering opportunities for children
to gain experiences in technology, and to develop a talent
in cultural areas such as choir, band, orchestra, drama and
art. Children also have the opportunity to participate in
more than thirty sporting activities. Each of these areas
are being further developed as well as new initiatives and
opportunities in innovative curriculum. An important emphasis
on thinking skills and teaching children how to learn is being
introduced as well as opportunities in the acquisition of
other languages. |

The
pupil’s personal development
is very important. We intentionally value each child’s uniqueness and foster the growth
of valued attitudes, confidence,
self-esteem, independence, responsibility and tolerance of other
peoples views and beliefs. The school values the many ethnic backgrounds
of the children that attend. In contemporary society it is essential
that people from all cultures and backgrounds live and work together
harmoniously with understanding and integrity.
If
young people are to achieve to their potential it is essential that
they are supported from the home – it is a shared responsibility – yours and ours, so please feel free to access
our staff to ensure that we are working towards the common goal
of achieving the very best for your child. It is my hope that every
family when leaving this school can say that the experience was
positive, happy, challenging and dynamic. I will do my best to ensure
that this is the case.
