‘A few months ago, I was asked by my Art Teacher to compete in the National Young Designer Awards. I attended the prizegiving and won first place in the Landscape/Garden concept design.’ This is a fantastic achievement. Well Done Rebecca!

Hobie 16 Nationals - 2 Firsts
Room 8 has a very talented sailor amongst their students! James Wilson recently competed in the Hobie 16 Nationals off Takapuna Beach over the
weekend. He crewed for Andrew Springford and
they finished first overall in the Senior Open Class. That’s Adult sailors!
They also won the Rose Bowl, which you win for winning the opening race of the Nationals, it
has never been the case that a crew that
win the Rose Bowl then go on to win the Trophy!
James and Andrew also sailed last year in the Nationals and finished 3rd. James may sail in a
regatta in the Fiji islands next term and James’s win qualifies him for the World Champs next year in San Francisco. A very talented young man and someone to watch out for in years to come.
