More than two-thirds of students learn an instrument at MBIS. We have a group available for everyone in the music department, from auditioned to non-auditioned groups which caters for everyone.

Dance

Our dance programme consists of 10 different dance teams that feature multiple different genres of dance...

  • Hip Hop

  • Modern 

  • Dance Sport

  • Performance

  • Jazz

We have a dance option for all dancers at MBIS from beginner dancers who have never danced before to advanced dances who compete in regular competitions. There are multiple events within the year that our dancers work towards including school competitions for our competition teams (Dance Nz Made) and school based performances such as the dance showcase and the dance assembly. These events give all of our students a chance to showcase their hard work and dedication to their peers, family and the wider community. 

Within our dance programme students within year 8 are involved in leadership opportunities that allow them to take ownership of their creativity and mentoring abilities.
